Episode 3 – Movie Day

This week’s episode is all about visual entertainment!

The opening song is “Lauraine” by Rocketboat who messaged us on Twitter from their handle @wearerocketboat to offer us their work for the show. Thanks guys!

My guest in the studio this week, Tiffany Stone, is a friend of mine from way back who is a huge movie buff and has introduced me to many great films.

In the first segment we offer up some recommendations for what to watch that we found by browsing the Netflix Instant library and by looking at a few subreddits devoted to what’s available online right now on Netflix. You can check out r/Netflix, r/NetflixBestOf, and r/BestofNetflix on reddit to see if there’s anything out there that you don’t know about already that may suit your preferences. During this segment we played the song “Brazil” by Ark Patrol.

We used “The Crow Song” by Toronto in Summer to transition us into the second segment.

The final segment on this episode is a little longer than the normal segments we produce. Tiffany and I were having so much fun discussing Spike Jonze’s Academy Award nominated film “Her” that we just lost track of time! This is an amazing film with a lot going on. If you would like to see it in theaters, you can find showtimes here, and you can read all about what went into creating the movie in this article from Vulture. In this segment we played “Song 8″ by Tysonification and “Xanadu” by Tyler Berbert .

FYI you can now get the show in iTunes and Stitcher! Plus, we’ve put together a SoundCloud page as well, so you can share the show any way you like!

The closing song for this episode is “Run” (feat. Jenna Fournier) by Oldboy.

Enjoy!

Really enjoying the podcasts from the guest interviews to the sample music! I’ve been listening weekly. Loved this past podcast–I am always looking for Netflix/Hulu viewing suggestions. Off to watch The Square!

The movie conversation was maybe my favorite so far; made me remember LinkTV, an international public tv with films and documentaries you’d never see otherwise, check it out. Funny how when we choose where we get ideas or news, we*could* put ourselves in a little box… thanks too for introducing all the new music!
